How many outfit changes are included in a cake smash session?
There’s no limit on outfit changes. Our Brooklyn studio has all outfits and props. We’ll follow your baby’s comfort level and adapt to how many outfits they’re happy to wear, typically covering 2-5 looks during the session.
Can we substitute the cake with something else?
Yes! If you’re not introducing sugar yet, we can replace the cake with healthier options like watermelon, strawberries, or even something fun like spaghetti! Just let us know your preference, and we’ll create a playful setup that suits your little one.
When should I schedule a birthday session?
If you want to receive the images and products before your baby’s birthday celebration, it’s best to schedule the session when your baby is 10.5 to 11 months old. However, we can schedule the session anytime around their birthday—whether it’s a few weeks before or after. Just make sure to reserve your spot in advance, as planning takes 2-6 weeks.
My baby is turning 1 tomorrow! Can I still book a session?
Absolutely! Many parents realize last minute that they want birthday photos, and we can often accommodate. Reach out, and we’ll do our best to schedule a session or consultation to discuss your options.
Do you provide the cake and props?
Yes! We take care of it all. Your cake smash session at our Brooklyn studio includes a custom cake that matches your theme, a styled set with tasteful props, family portraits, bath time and a full cleanup afterward. All you need to bring is your baby—we’ll handle the rest.
I want to celebrate my baby's First Birthday but not as a cake smash.
We can definitely do that! We would mainly focus on family time and individual portraits of your baby with outfit changes and opt out of the cake smash portion.
